Question: Is it possible to get married in Brazil?

In Brazil, a civil process is required in order to legalize the marriage. Religious ceremonies may also be performed, but they are not legally recognized. Religious ceremonies alone are not considered legally binding. Civil ceremonies may be performed at Civil Registry Offices (Registros Civis).

Does Brazil recognize U.S. marriage?

Marriages performed in the United States are valid in Brazil. To register your marriage, the notary will need originals or authenticated copies of each spouses birth certificate, passport, and CPF. Theyll also want your foreign marriage certificate and prenuptial agreement (if there is one).
