Question: What is the difference between an atheist and a non religious?

An atheist doesnt believe in a god or divine being. Atheism is the doctrine or belief that there is no god. However, an agnostic neither believes nor disbelieves in a god or religious doctrine.

Is no religion and atheist the same?

Despite the fact that atheism is not a religion, atheism is protected by many of the same Constitutional rights that protect religion. That, however, does not mean that atheism is itself a religion, only that our sincerely held (lack of) beliefs are protected in the same way as the religious beliefs of others.

How is atheism different from religion?

Generally atheism is a denial of God or of the gods, and if religion is defined in terms of belief in spiritual beings, then atheism is the rejection of all religious belief.

What is the difference between an atheist and atheist?

Atheism is about belief or, specifically, what you dont believe. Agnosticism is about knowledge or, specifically, about what you dont know. An atheist doesnt believe in any gods. An agnostic doesnt know if any gods exist or not.

How does an atheist deal with suffering?

Atheists faced with suffering may instead take pride in their own integrity, intellectual honesty, or stoicism. A therapist may also need to help a patient address the particular challenges presented by her world view in coming to terms with suffering.
