The rate of violent crime is low and most areas of Prague are safe to walk around even after dark. Be careful on Wenceslas Square. It is usually packed with tourists and the crowds make things easy for pickpockets. There have also been cases of trusting love-seekers being robbed of all their money at night.

Prague is a safe city and it is safe to visit. However, as we keep saying, those pesky pickpockets are a bit of an issue, so being aware of your surroundings at all times and making sure to keep your valuables and belongings close to you and out of reach at all times is a good idea.

Prague is very compact - I guess the tourist center is not more than 3-4 miles across. You can easily walk all around Old Town - which is mostly pedestrian anyway, walk from Old Town square up to the Castle will take max 30 min (most of it spent wrestling your way though crowds at Charles bridge).

Dont worry, its totally safe to use Uber in Prague, both UberPOP, and UberBLACK. We personally use Uber cars many times a week and have never encountered any incidents. Also, there havent been any incidents since Uber began offering services in Prague almost three years ago.
