Question: Where does surround sound plug into?

Most surround sound kits include a receiver. If you bought your surround sound set second-hand, you may have to buy the receiver separately. All speakers will connect to your receiver via AV cable, but the receiver can use optical, HDMI, or AV cables to connect to your TV.

How do I hook up surround sound to my TV?

Connect a Coaxial Digital Cable, Optical Digital Cable, or Audio cable to the Audio Output jack on your TV. Connect the other end of the cable to the corresponding jacks on the A/V receiver or home theater system. Depending on your device, the audio input may be labeled TV INPUT or VIDEO INPUT.
